With today being Valentine’s Day, I’d like to take a moment of your time to remind you of how much God loves you.
“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would dare to die–but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8
The great thing about God’s love is that it is unconditional. It’s not based on our performance or how we look. God loves us just as we are. He sees us in light of what Jesus has done. In His eyes we are perfect.
God offered His love without requiring any love in return. He wants us to love Him back, but He gave us free will. He won’t force us to love Him. He wants us to love Him because that’s what we want–not what we were told.
Another thing about this love is that it never ends and it’s new every morning. God’s love for us is eternal. He will love us forever. Lamentations 3:22-23 also says that His love is “steadfast” and it “never ceases”. His sweet mercy is new every morning. (ESV)
This Valentine’s Day, let’s remember how much God really loves us!
Until next time,
