It’s finally Friday! This week has been really good but it has felt really off. Bradley had some skills testing he had to do on Monday so we had to get up at 5 AM making Tuesday feel like a Wednesday; and Wednesday like a Thursday. So I’m pretty happy that it’s officially Friday! And after what has felt like weeks of cloudy dreary days the sun has FINALLY come out! It’s one of those blue sky kind of days!
So whose ready to count your blessings? Let’s get started!
1) There was NO fire!
We’ve been having some issues with the upstairs smoke detector. A few weeks ago it started going off when I would get out of the shower. The bathroom is pretty small so it doesn’t take much to get the mirror to fog up. And it almost always fogs up when I shower, unless it’s 90° out. So that’s nothing new.
So, we relocated the smoke detector a little further from the bathroom and that seemed to solve the problem…for the time being. Until one night earlier this week. About 1:30 AM the smoke alarm just starts going off. There was NO smoke and NO fire. I’m thankful to know that it’s loud enough to wake me up and that there was nothing wrong.
2) Parade/Festival season is up on us!
I know that most people are often busy in the Summer with fairs and vacations. However, our family seems to be just the opposite. We’re often busier this time of the year doing festive activities and visiting family than any other time of the year.
In fact, this weekend marks the 1st festival/parade of the season. A local Mum Festival! It’s the first time that we’ve ever been to this particular festival and I’m looking forward to it. I get to wear my new favorite shirt and it’s forecasted to be sunny and chilly! The perfect parade/festival weather! Be sure to check out my Instagram or Facebook for updates!
3) The weather has caught up to the calendar!
This makes me SO happy. For a while there I wondered if we’d have a really warm Fall. It seemed that it just wasn’t quite cool enough for jeans, sweaters, flannel or even boots…
But with October being just around the corner it seems as if we’re finally getting there. It’s chillier during the day and almost cold at night! Sooner than later we’ll be lighting a fire in the stove and lanterns on the wall watching out favorite Christmas movies.
But, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here…there’s still so much more Fall things to enjoy! What’s your favorite way to celebrate Fall? Do you prefer apple or pumpkin spice?
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share a few of them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
