Hello and happy Friday! I hope that y’all have had a good week! We’ve been pretty excited because I think that Summer is officially behind us. It’s not even 50° out and quite sunny! So I’m one happy camper! This week has been good too! I’ve been able to get quite a few business things done and have plans for some more projects/pictures in the coming months. (: So without further chit-chat let’s get to this week’s blessings!
1) Level One complete!
As of 12:00 AM Friday morning, Bradley is officially a firefighter! (: He’s come a long way from the little boy who’d run to the window every single time he heard a siren pass the house. And let’s not forget about all those times he watched “Elmo Visits the Fire station”…
He’s endured 90+° heat, physical exhaustion, mental exhaustion and LOTS, AND LOTS of reading, worksheets, quizzes, and studying. Studying that enabled him to pass all of his skills tests and both big firefighter tests. (He was given three chances to pass the tests and was able to pass all of them on the first attempt). Remember that big, thick book he had? He’s read almost all of it…
This is a HUGE accomplishment for anyone especially an 18-year-old highschool senior, but I’m not too excited to know that he can actually enter a burning building…But, we’re not gonna think about that right now…We’re going to think about how much fun it was to…
2) CELEBRATE at Skyline Chili
Bradley has really been craving Skyline Chili the past few weeks and so we decided to celebrate his firefighter officialness by eating dinner there last night! I have to be honest though, I thought everyone put chili on their spaghetti. I didn’t realize that it was mainly just isolated to the Mid-Western United States. What’s something that you’ve grown up doing that you thought was normal for everyone else? Or what food/food combinations is your area of the world known for? Let me know in the comments below! (:
3) Apple Butter, Apple Cider and Fresh Biscuits
We had some errands to run this morning and decided to stop by the local fruit farm down the street on our way home. We got some apple cider and apple butter! So, now we can enjoy warm biscuits and apple butter for dessert tonight! Yum!
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
