Hey there and happy Friday! I hope that ya’ll have had a great week and were able to notice some of the blessings that God has put in your life. Let’s take a look back and see what God’s been doing in our lives and count our blessings!
1) The paperback version is finally here!
I’ve been working really hard on formatting a paperback version of my new book “Finding True Love: A 14 day devotional exploring the deep love that God has for us!”. And I finally got all the kinks worked out, so the paperback version is now available! (: You can get yours right HERE.
2) Hanging out with a friend
The other day I had one of my friends over to hang out. We chatted, ate pizza made in a Cast Iron skillet (seriously, the cast iron makes the BEST crust) and painted our nails.
We were both in the mood to just chill and watch movies so we did just that. We watched 4 movies in the scope of about 10 hours. We started with the classic “Aladdin”, followed by “The Goofy Movie”, “Mulan” and ending with “Apollo 13”. I don’t think that either of us has ever watched that many movies in a single day. By the end of the night, we were both exhausted and stiff from sitting all day. So, we ended the night by playing a few rounds of “UNO“.
3) Living on a well
When we first moved to this house I was leery of well water. For one thing we were going to have soft water. The only experience I’d had with soft water prior to moving here was when we would stay with family. I’d go to shower and was never fully confident that I’d gotten all the shampoo out of my hair… And the water here is full of sediment, so it’s not wise to drink or cook with it. I wasn’t really sure how all of this was going to shake out since I drink mostly water.
We had to get used to new terms and chores. A water softener, a Reverse Osmosis system, and making sure that the softener was full of salt. At first the water tasted a little funny but after a few days it tasted normal–for which I was greatly relieved.
Moving here I never thought that I’d be SO thankful to have well water. While flipping through channels Wednesday night we noticed that the entire county was under a boil advisory. It turns out that there was a massive water main break in one of the rivers in the area. So it took the workers several hours to locate and isolate it. As we were watching the information it took us all a minute to realize that this low pressure/no water/boil advisory DIDN’T affect us. And to be honest, it felt odd. Like because so many people were affected we should be too…The longer I live here the more thankful I am to be coming back to our roots if you will. Relying on God and the land that He’s given us to provide for what we need.
Another thing that I’ve noticed is that we often get so used to having things in our lives. Things like electricity and water that when they go away we become massively inconvenienced and angry. So we tend to blame anyone we can. Often without thinking about those out there in the elements trying to fix it. I’m thankful that there’s people out there willing to do that for us.
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
