Our Daily Blessings! (:

Blossoming Tomato

Well hello there! I hope that you’ve had a good week! Here lately it seems like we have one crazy thing happen each week. Something that I’m learning is that life isn’t about having all my little ducks in row and then moving on. Life is about choosing to live and embrace the pond you’re in. Even when your ducks aren’t even close to being in row. Honestly, though, I’m just lucky if mine are in the same pond right side up…

1) Our Tomatoes are growing!

I’m really excited about this! I didn’t really realize how much I missed having a garden until we actually started planting one this year! We’ve already been using our fresh herbs on fish and vegetables pretty regularly. And here soon we’re going to have to stake up the rest of our tomato plants! They’re getting SO big and they’re even starting to blossom! I’m not only excited for Fall to get here so that we can make Salsa but I’m also looking forward to eating fresh tomatoes in salads and of course eating BLT’s!

2) A Morning Stroll

This morning we all decided to pile into the van and drive down to our local Rec Center to walk around for a few minutes. It was SO nice this morning! There was plenty of sunshine and a cool breeze blowing! I’m thankful that we’ve still been able to enjoy the outdoors even though we’ve had a lot of rain lately. I’m thankful to be able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

3) The assurance of His Word

Sometimes bad things happen and we don’t know why. We’re shocked, hurt and maybe a little angry. Even though we’ll never understand why a good God allows bad things to happen I’m thankful that we have His Word that gives us assurance. It reminds us that this world is not all that there is—that there is something more. Something much better than what we can see and understand now. We’re reminded that God is still with us even when these bad things happen and that it’s His love that will sustain us. It’s HIS STRENGTH that will get us through the difficult days.

And I’m also thankful that these things have a way of putting life in perspective. It makes us realize how fragile life is, how quickly the days and years pass. It shows us what’s really important; and more often than not it’s the little  everyday things that mean more than the HUGE extravagant things.  Let’s not wait until the next life altering event happens that brings us to our knees to show others that we love them. Let’s show the love of Jesus to everyone we encounter everyday!

(Please note: This is not an indication of something bad happening in my personal life or the lives of my family. Some members of our Church Family are walking through a really difficult time right now and writing the above was a way to help me process my thoughts and remind myself of what’s really important in life).

What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share a few in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue

  1. Blessing comes in all forms Iā€™m this life to list them all would be impossible. But each day that we are awakened to experience another day is the beginning of a million blessings in one day. I learned at a very young age to count my blessings I soon realize that there were too many at any given time to count. Be blessed and keep counting them.

  2. Exactly! Thank you so much for the encouragement! (:
