A Heavenly Perspective

“…looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith…”

~Hebrews 12:2a

I was thinking recently about how we view the things around us and how important a proper perspective is in life. About how the right perspective can change everything if we let it.

 Life on earth is temporary

“As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” ~2 Cor. 4:18 (ESV)

In the midst of this crazy life I think we can easliy forget what is really important. The main reason that we are here on this earth is to bring glory to God (Col. 3:23-24). We are commanded to tell others about this God that we love and  serve and show them a better way to live (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Peter 1:18-20). Every thing that we have on this earth will one day not be here. One day life on this planet will end and none of our stuff is going to matter (Mattew 24:35). What is going to matter is how we lived our lives. Did we love others as Jesus did? Did we make our relationships a priority or were we too worried about what was on the T.V.?

Having the right perspective doesn’t just happen overnight. It’s a daily decision. Each day we must choose to see each moment as Jesus would. Finding the good and thanking God for the blessings that we take for granted.

Until next time,
