Bee-ing Bold!

Coffee seems to be a buzzword lately. Everyone’s talking about it. What types they like and don’t like, commercials are advertising their brand, and everyone has an opinion. Frankly, I don’t like coffee, I think it tastes like bitter hot water.

As I was cleaning out the coffee pods that Dad brought home from work last week to use in the garden I started thinking about boldness. Coffee is often advertised by its bold flavor; but have you ever really thought about boldness in the Bible?

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
~Hebrews 4:15-16

When Jesus came to this earth He came as fully God and fully man (John 1:14, Philippians 2:5-11, & Colossians 2:9). He came to be (and do) what we could not, provide atonement for our sins (1 John 2:2 & 4:10). Because He conquered sin and death and lives in us, His Spirit helps us to do the same (Romans 8:26,37). We have a relationship with God and He wants us to come boldly to Him with our requests. Telling Him what we need and want (Luke 18:1-8). Then He in His time will answer us (1 Peter 3:12, 1 John 5:15).

“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.”
~Acts 4:29

I first heard this verse years ago at a Homeschool convention and it quickly became one of my favorites! Life as a Christian is anything but easy. Often times life is harder simply because we’ve chosen to serve God. People will do whatever they can to silence the truth of the Gospel. BUT that doesn’t mean that we can (or should) stop speaking about it. When His truth is being silenced and misinterpreted we need to be looking at what the Bible says and taking a stand for what He says is right. with the boldness that He gives His people.

This verse was the inspiration for my Bee Bold shirt and bag. Boldness is not something that comes easy to me. However, I love having this simple cute reminder that God wants me to boldly come to Him and ask for what I need even if that’s more boldness to share His Word with the world!

Until next time,
