Well hello there! I hope that y’all had a great weekend! Sorry I haven’t been on here as much as I should be the past couple of weeks. I’ve been a little preoccupied with life stuff and this new business opportunity that came up. I was thinking… Lots of people don’t like Mondays and quite honestly neither do I. Since I didn’t post Friday what do ya’ll think about reading the blessings from this past week today??
1) The new opportunity is panning out quite nicely
Remember when I told you about this new opportunity I was looking into? Well, I’ve done some more looking and inquiring and decided to jump into this opportunity! Eventually it will allow me to do what I’ve always wanted to do with my photos…But we’re still a little ways off…
I was getting very overwhelmed trying to get everything set up, figured out and operational before Christmas. As a result, I was very stressed, worried and completely forgetting about 1/2 the steps necessary. Then Mom suggested that I create a Mind Map, like those story webs you used to create in Elementary School. You put the big idea in the middle and then all the little ideas around it and so on. Since the house was quiet a good part of last Thursday I decided to get started. I had the CD player all to myself, my stuff spread all over the floor in front of the fire and a cup of hot cocoa.
I’m pretty happy with the results. I managed to get 1/2 way done with the map in just a few hours! I still have quite a bit of work ahead of me but this breaks it down into tiny actionable steps…And Friday I was able to finish the map in about an hour…That means that it’s time for the next step. Implementation! (:
2) FRESH EGGS
The other afternoon JoJo went out to check on the chickens and came back with two small eggs! The next few days we’ve been getting an egg or two a day. Thursday we even got a light green one. One of the chicken breeds we have lays blue eggs. So, it’s such a light blue that it almost looks green, which is perfect considering Christmas is less than 20 days away! So far we have 5 eggs that we used for breakfast for dinner Saturday night along with dark chocolate waffle ice cream bowls! Yum!
The funny thing we’ve noticed is that our hens are NOT morning chickens, they don’t enjoy being up before the sun. They also don’t lay in the nesting boxes…We’ve been putting these ceramic eggs in the nesting boxes that way they know where to lay. However they kick the ceramic eggs out of the nesting boxes and lay their eggs along the back wall of the coop!?
3) It’s Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
School schedules are winding down, the Christmas shopping is almost done (the only thing that’s left is the stocking stuffers and those are last minute anyway). All of the gifts are wrapped and under the tree. We spent Saturday running a few errands. I found quite a bit of fun stuff at the store that I’m anxious to experiment with. And let’s not forget the 4 new records that we found! The weather’s gotten a lot colder too and Christmas will be here before we know it. Let’s enjoy every festive moment!
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below!
Until next time,
