“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…” ~Romans 12:6a
God has given each of His children special gifts (see 1 Corinthians 12:7-11). We are to use these gifts for His glory. The gifts that He gives to His children look different. Some are called overseas to other countries and spread the Gospel. Others are called to be teachers, accountants, or law enforcement. Still, others are called to be fast food managers or cashiers.
There should be no shame in living the life that God has called you to live. Just because your job doesn’t fit the “norm” doesn’t mean that it’s somehow less important than another’s. The job that you have whether it’s a stay-at-home Mom or a big businessman is important. Don’t let society determine your worth.
The opportunities that you have doing the job that God has called you to do are unique. You are able to help and inspire others just by being you and being available. Society will continue to try to make us believe that we are not making a difference in the lives around us, but God tells us that we make a difference in others’ lives just by being ourselves and living the life that God has called us to live.
So today, let’s begin to break the mold and live the life that God has called us to live.
Until next time,
