Every Good Gift…

Through all of the craziness that is 2020, I’ve often asked myself where is God in all of this? Not necessarily in my life individually but in the big picture. Amid the lies, selfishness, and fear…where is He? The more I think about that question the more I come back to the idea that it starts with me…Right here, right now.

Maybe the way that we change the course of our Nation is by letting God into our individual lives and letting Him transform us. One heart at a time. Maybe the way that God works in our world as a whole is through the individual hearts of His people…

Today’s Friday and it’s the day that I share with you a few of the blessings that I’ve seen in my life this past week. James reminds us that “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” ~James 1:17. And there’s been more than enough good to go around!

Dad’s been able to take a couple of days off recently to tie up several loose ends around the homestead.

We’re starting to Winterize everthing. Making plans to repair the chicken coop and clean up the garden. Finish the canning, get the junk out of the garage attic, and of course, cut more firewood.

We’ve lost a few chickens in 2020 so we went out and bought some more chicks. One of the newest chicks (whom we’ve named Quazzi), appeared to have a stiff/crooked neck and was struggling to eat and drink. I was a little worried that we’d have to put her down but after some research by the future Vet Tech, we realized that she has vitamin deficiency! After just a few treatments she’s already doing much better!!

Mom and Dad are celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary today as well! I always find it really encouraging and inspiring the way that they’ve weathered the storms of life. What could have divided many couples has only made them stronger…They’ve given us all a wonderful example to follow!

I love this time of the year for many reasons, the changing of the seasons, the colors and smells, and the warmth of home. Christmas is my favorite holiday and this time of the year I’ll start listening to a Christmas song or two just because…This year I’m particularly excited because there are 2 new Christmas albums coming out that I can’t wait to listen to! Carrie Underwood’s My Gift” and For King and Country’s “A Drummer Boy Christmas”! They’re first full-length Christmas album coming 10/30!! And For King and Country is releasing their first single off the album TODAY! 🙌

2020’s been a wild ride, that’s for sure! If you’re anything like me you could use a little encouragement or you know someone who could! I’ve got just the thing! I wrote a short devotional about God’s love. Reminding us just how much God loves us. He pursues us and loves us unconditionally and that He’s there as a shoulder to cry on and an encouraging word when times get hard. Maybe it’s the reminder that you could use today…If not do you know someone who could benefit from such a reminder?

If you’d like to get a head start on your Christmas shopping my book is perfect as a stocking stuffer and is available in e-book format as well! And what about wearable encouragement? A comfy shirt or sweatshirt in an assortment of colors with a fun and encouraging saying on the front! Check out all the designs and colors right here!

I hope that y’all have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
