“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.”
~Proverbs 19:21
Throughout selling the house, house hunting, finding a house, the contract falling through, and house hunting again; I’ve been learning a lot and my faith is being tested. Sometimes we need to tell our brains what to think. The Bible doesn’t ever once claim that after becoming a Christian life is a piece of cake. In fact, it states just the opposite. There are various verses that say we will be tested and tried. Life will be hard but the glorious thing is that no matter what happens God is there; and it is His plan that prevails.
But you know what? We don’t always like His plan, do we? His plan isn’t always convenient or fun. But His plan is good.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts. neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.” ~ Isaiah 55:9
God sees all things, Hebrews 4:13 says that nothing is hidden from His sight. God sees the big picture. The entire puzzle, the finished quilt. He knows what will be best for us. We as finite humans are not capable of thinking or seeing like He can. And I have to ask, how many of us, if we knew what was going to happen before it happened, would actually go through with it? I don’t know that I would.
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” ~James 1:2-4
Trials and hard things in life mold us into who God wants us to be. Ultimately, we need to remember that everything that happens in this life is for God’s glory and our good (Romans 8:28).
Until next time,
