Hey there! I hope that you’ve had a good week. Yesterday was Valentine’s Day and just in case no one told you, HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!! Regardless of your current relationship status I want to remind you that you are loved by the God of the universe! He loves you SO much that He was willing to send His Only Son to die in your place. Though Jesus didn’t deserve to die He faced death so that we could have the hope of an Eternal Life spent with Him (See Isaiah 53 + John 3:16).
I’ve been working my way through the Bible this year and I’m noticing SO much that I never saw before. I’m seeing God’s grace and love and mercy to flawed and struggling human beings. He didn’t have to show them grace or love, but He did. I’m extremely thankful that I’m able to see more of His love and look forward to learning more new things as I read.
This past Sunday our Church started Small Groups again. For a few months out of the year we’ll gather in someone’s house to study and discuss a particular topic in the Bible on Sunday nights. This is something that I really look forward to. It’s allowed me to get to know other people in the congregation that I normally wouldn’t talk to. And getting to hear other like-minded people share their opinion about particular passages of Scripture has also encouraged me.
I know that I’ve said this before but I have a feeling about this year. I feel like I’m laying a foundation of sorts. Sort of how you take tiny jumps on a trampoline in order to eventually jump higher. I can’t explain it, but I feel like I’m building momentum for something. I just don’t know what. Maybe that’s where the “just you wait and see” and the “watch and see” comes into play…
Over the past year or so we’ve been cooking almost exclusively in Cast Iron pans. We still use our slow cooker and a few of the smaller pots and skillets for gravy and such. But the majority of the time we use either our enameled Cast Iron Dutch Ovens or the regular Cast Iron pans. When food is cooked in Cast Iron it just tastes SO much better!
The other night we tried a new recipe: Spinach Pie! We cooked the Pie in our Cast Iron pie pan that we bought from Lehman’s! It’s one of our very favorite pans simply because we LOVE pie crust and when you bake a pie in a Cast Iron pie pan the crust takes on a whole new level of deliciousness!

If you’d like to get some Cast Iron pans for yourself and see just what I’m talking about if you purchase from Lehman’s you can use the code TAKE5 at Checkout to take $5.00 off orders of $75+!
On Thursday we had some running around to do. I forgot how much fun it is to be out and about this close to Valentine’s Day. There’s so many men in particular out buying gifts and flowers it just makes me happy. And then we ventured into Hobby Lobby. It was SO fun to walk through the brightly lit store and see all bright and cheerful Spring colors and decorations…especially with it being quite gray out. In all seriousness, it was literally GRAY out. Not overcast, not partly cloudy, but GRAY! Being reminded that Spring is just around the corner was nice and very much needed.
What’s something you’re thankful for this Valentine’s Day week? I’d love for you to share it in the comments below! Happy Valentine’s Day! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
