We had some errands to run yesterday evening and I was pleasantly surprised at how chilly it was! It’s been rainy and cold most of the week but last night it really started to feel like Christmas…

As we were running our errands I rode in the truck with Dad. I was telling him some of the things that I had been thinking and stressing about lately, and he reminded me that I need to be patient, let things work out, and have faith. I looked up and we were passing a church. Psalm 46:10 was written on the church’s sign–“Be still, and know that I am God”. I’m thankful not only for that reminder but also for my family who continually encourages me to let things go, make the most of the situation I’m in, and keeps me facing forward.

Speaking of it starting to feel like Christmas…

I’m really excited because For King and Country’s NEW Christmas album “A Drummer Boy Christmas” comes out today! We preordered it last night–making it the first new Christmas album of 2020! I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t listened to the entire album yet, but I’ve heard a couple of the songs from it and it’s really good! Come Sunday, we’ll be pulling out all of the Christmas music and I couldn’t be more excited! There’s just something special about Christmas music…

It reminds us of the past and spreads hope and joy. We’re reminded not only of the reason for the season but the very reason why we have hope. Because there’s a God who loves us so much that He sent His Son down to earth as a baby; to grow up sinless and die in our place. Rising from the dead three days later to secure a place in Heaven for all who believe in Him and are baptized to spend eternity!

While waiting a couple more days before the Holiday festivities can begin I have a fun weekend to distract me…

We got to thinking that it’s been years since we’ve been able to really get away. We haven’t taken a true vacation since 2016. Something always comes up preventing us from going or there are so many projects that need our attention a vacation slips our minds. SO, we decided we all could use a break…And we’re planning a little Stay-cation! We really don’t have an agenda. There aren’t deadlines just a few fun things we’d like to do. Maybe putting up the Christmas lights spending time outside, playing a few games, watching some movies, and (provided it doesn’t rain) we’ll be smoking several different types of meat including one of our home-raised chickens, and cooking several meals over the fire! (:

Until next time,
Bailey Sue
