“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
~Galatians 6:9
I was just thinking this morning that at the first of the year I had great plans. I was going to do my chores every day and not make excuses. I was going to do what I knew needed done in a day and do it joyfully. I was going to be very productive in my days and work hard to start this business.
But then reality hit. Just because the calendar flipped and I had great intentions didn’t mean that everything was going to be all peachy-keen. It didn’t mean that I would have all my weaknesses worked out and that life would be an easy ride for 2017.
I would still have these battles, and the Devil will keep on trying to get me to fall. He will keep trying to make me slip and fall into a pit of discouragement. But I will be aware of what the Devil is up to. I know that it’s his goal in life to discourage me and make me feel like it’s too late to start over. The good news is: IT’S NEVER TOO LATE. There is never a better time to start over than RIGHT NOW. So what if it’s 3:45 on a Wednesday afternoon?
” ‘Yet even now’, declares the LORD, ‘return to me with all your heart’…Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love.” ~Joel 2:12a-13b
God knows that we are human. He knows that we mess up (Romans 3:23). But He NEVER stops loving us. No matter how much we mess up. He extends His marvelous grace which covers our sins and helps us in our weaknesses (Romans 8:37-39, Hebrews 4:16).
So today, I just wanted to encourage you and let you know that however slow your progression is on those New Year’s goals it’s never too late to start over and try again.
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
