I don’t know about you, but I think it’s absolutely crazy that Christmas is exactly ONE week away! A friend of mine said it best: 2020 has both dragged on and flew by…

This post will be my last until 2021! After a year that’s been so crazy, I can’t think of a better way to close it out than by making mention of some of the many many blessings that God has given.

To start things off I’m pretty happy because today is my last day of “work” until 2021. Both Bradley and Billie Jo are done with their schooling until January as well! They both passed all of their classes with flying colors!

Since a lot of the work is winding down we are immersing ourselves in all things Christmas!

We’re baking a TON of cookies! We’ve already made a few different kinds–including 3 batches of fluffy Sugar Cookies! That’s just the tip of the iceberg, we’ve still got three or four more kinds to make in the next few days! 😁

We’re all taking turns wrapping presents, and of course, we’re listening to Christmas music all day long! With one last trip to the store tomorrow morning the very last of the shopping will be done as well!

Originally the last blessing I was going to mention is that after today Dad was supposed to have the next two weeks off–going back Monday, January 4th. However, after some unfortunate events, he’ll now be working every weekday except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day… We were looking forward to two weeks of relaxed, Christmas-y time off.

I am very disappointed by this turn of events but I’m also thankful that Dad has a job. In a year where so many have had it so hard, we have been greatly blessed. We have more than enough and Dad is home every evening and weekend!

I can’t help but think of the lyrics to Amy Grant’s song “A Christmas to Remember”.

“It’s gonna be a Christmas to remember
Light up the fire, play some Nat King Cole
Always sentimental and don’t you know that
It’s gonna be a Christmas to remember I know it’s true
Time doesn’t stand still
Many things can change
But we know some things never will
The memories we share
The songs we always sing
The mystery of life
The hopefulness this season brings”

Where ever and however this Christmas finds you, it’ll be a Christmas to remember! May yours be filled with lots of love, joy, Christmas cookies, and ultimately the hope that we have bacause of the Baby in the manger!

Merry Christmas,

Bailey Sue (:
