Hello and happy Friday! I hope that you’ve had a good week and were able to see some of the blessings that God has given you. This week started out kinda slow but thankfully I’ve been able to get my mojo back and get some things accomplished. I’ve seen so many blessings this week alone it’s been crazy…but for time’s sake I’m just going to share three. Are you ready?
1) Seeing so many answered prayers…
One of the things that our church has been focusing on this year is Prayer. We’ve gotten together to study prayer, share our requests and bring them to the Father together. Really since the beginning of 2019 but especially in the last few weeks I’ve seen God slowly but surely start to answer these requests of mine. I’ve pursued new opportunities and seen an immense amount of growth in such a short amount of time. Even though this growth scares me at times and overwhelms me almost daily; I am so thankful that each day this dream of mine continues to grow.
I just want to encourage you in your own walk: DON’T GIVE UP. KEEP PRAYING. KEEP ASKING. KEEP PLEADING. God DOES hear your prayer and will answer in His time. DON’T LOOSE FAITH.
2) Everything’s green
I was looking outside the other day and was amazed at just how GREEN everything was. The grass is growing, trees are starting to show their leaves, and flowers are slowly starting to bloom. it’s absolutely beautiful outside, Even on the dreary days there’s something pretty to look at…
3) Just Enough
Some days we just NEED chocolate, at least in our house that’s how it works. Last night was one of those nights. So, I was tasked with the all important job of making brownies. They’re the quickest thing to make when the chocolate craving strikes. Dump everything into a bowl, stir, dump into a pan, spread, bake, and indulge. It’s that simple. So, I started by melting an entire stick of butter, see you already know that they’re going to be good if it includes a whole stick of butter…Then I went to get some sugar. And lo and behold, the sugar canister was empty. Upon further investigation to our pantry we didn’t have any bags of sugar either.
I thought that that was the end of it. And then we realized that we had a little jar of sugar to sweeten our coffee and just a little bit left in the bottom of the canister. AND the best part? That “little bit of sugar” added up to JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT TO MAKE A SINGLE BATCH OF BROWNIES!!!
As much as I get frustrated by it and wish it were different, God often works the same way. Giving just what we need at just the right time. Do I often wish that there was a warehouse with a sure guarantee of having whatever I needed whenever I wanted it. Absolutely. But that’s not how faith works. The Bible defines faith as “…the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1).
Would it have been nice to go to the pantry and pull up a full bag of sugar and have the ability to make a double batch of brownies and maybe a batch of chocolate chip cookies? Yes, yes it would have. But I really only needed the sugar for a single batch of brownies and maybe that’s all I needed to make.
And I had just enough for that…and maybe there was a lesson to learn. A reminder given. That even when things don’t go according to my plan God’s plan is greater and better for me in the long run. And He’ll make sure that I have just enough of what I need just when I need it. It may not be stockpiled in the pantry like I’d like it to be, but it’ll be there and He’ll provide just like He always has.
What are some of blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
