Our Daily Blessings! (:

Well hello there! It’s once again Friday and that means that it’s time to once again look back at the week and find a few blessings! Are you ready?

1) Life after death…

A couple of weeks ago a dear member of our church family suddenly passed away. It’s hit our entire congregation hard. He was a dearly loved man who loved to serve God, help others and he always had a smile on his face! I know he will be missed by so many!

The other day as I was thinking about this I felt like our church family could use a little dose of happy. A few smiles and a renewed hope that the sun will come out again. Then on Sunday after services a young man who had been attending pretty regularly with his girlfriend’s family chose to be baptized! (: After his baptism we all got in a big circle and sang the old hymn “God’s Family”.

I’ve heard it said that after every death there is a life. I’m thankful that even though we lost a dear bother we gained a new one…It reminds me that even in the most difficult times there is still hope and that God is still working in this world!

2) Bradley got a job!

Okay this still feels odd… Several months ago Bradley put in an application to work at the same fire department where he ran as an Explorer. He finally heard back this week! After filling out a packet of paperwork and dropping it off they decided to go ahead and get him started on orientation. Thankfully he’s currently working in prevention (which he did before as an Explorer and really enjoys) eventually though he’ll transfer to the front lines. I have to say though, I am GLAD that he’s working prevention. It’s one less thing I have to worry about! (: I’ve never liked the idea of my little brother running into fires…

3) A fun night at home

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few more pictures like this one too! (:

Some of my fondest memories of Summer when I was younger were our home camping days. We usually picked a long weekend and declared that the house was our camper and the backyard became our camp ground. We’d stay outside almost all day long; cooking our meals over our teeny-tiny fire pit, playing in the sandbox, hanging out in pool, lounging under the canopy, or doing some project or another in the yard.

Between our ages, everyone’s work schedule, and our growing homestead it’s getting harder to do that now. But today we get a little taste of that! We’re going to be working outside this evening, having a bonfire and eating dinner around the fire. I have to be honest, it makes me happy just thinking about it! And to make matters even better due to the holiday next week/fireworks/family visiting from out of town I’m working a shortened week. I’m taking a few days off and then coming back the week after the holiday and working on some big plans!

What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
