Well, it’s Friday once again! I’m thankful to see progress as I look back over this week. I’ve been making (and executing) plans for several months now and I’m finally taking steps in the right direction! It’ll be a while before any of these plans really get off the ground but progress has been made and for that I am thankful!

We’ve had less humidity, more sunshine, and cooler days this week too! Summer is starting to wind down and soon it’ll be time for Christmas decorations and fires in the fireplace but I must not get ahead of myself here…Let’s come back to this week and take a look back at a few of the blessings!

1st day’s in the books!

Bradley officially ran as a part time Firefighter/EMT this week! (He’s been working in Prevention!) Since he’s part time he only runs every 6th day (once a week). Due to his school schedule he only ran from 9:30pm-7am. Normally he’d run 7am-7-am. But this week he was in training from 8:00am-3:15pm  came home for a couple of hours then on to school until 9ish.

To be honest, I try not to focus too much on the specifics of his job. Not because I don’t care but rather if I really thought about it I’d be a nervous wreck! As odd as it is not having him home at night we seemed to adjust well which is good…it’s definitely different though. Come to find out while we were all sleeping well Bradley ended up getting three runs and about 3 hours of sleep and had two classes the next morning. So he came home, ate lunch and took a nap. He totally handles this lack-of-sleep thing a lot better than I do!

2) A truckload of FREE wood

One of our neighbors cut down a tree and since he didn’t need the wood he thought he’d check to see if we could use it.  So of course we said yes and sent Daddy and JoJo across the street to load up the truck! We ended up with a full truckload of logs that we’ll need to split here soon all for FREE!!

3) Home canned Pasta Sauce

So far this year we’ve ended up with buckets and buckets of tomatoes! (By buckets I’m referring to 5 gallon buckets). We’ve made Pico-de-Gallo, cucumber and tomato salad, put tomatoes on sandwiches, and made BLT’s. We’ve even canned several jars of salsa; but we’re still getting tomatoes. So, we decided to make our own pasta/pizza sauce. We’ve never had enough tomatoes before to make our own sauce…But so far we like it! We’re going to make another batch here soon and we might add some more seasoning but for the first batch it worked quite well and thanks to our Roma Saucer it went a lot quicker than the Salsa with less mess!! (I’ve linked a similar one below).

What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
