This week I’ve been working really hard to get my art gallery merchandise done. I’m actually making a lot of progress and have a really good start considering that I haven’t been working on it long. Thankfully I was able to figure out how to prevent glue from coming into contact with everything it touches! That in and of itself should make the process A LOT EASIER!!
I’m trying a brand new process that’s working really well but it’s a bit of an adjustment. I’m thankful that my family is willing to help me learn the patience and restraint when applying the glue/stain required to make this process work. Patience has never been my strong suit and I’ve always liked to have lots of extra…whether that’s paint, glue, or icing for my sugar cookies. Thankfully there are people in this family that like to use electric sanders…
Dad’s been getting home earlier than normal due to another company that his company deals with striking. It makes it nice because our evenings aren’t as rushed and we can actually eat dinner at a normal hour instead of somewhere between 7 and 9 P.M. And there’s a little more daylight so that we can cut some wood. We’re wondering if it’s going to be a rough winter. The animals are SO active. We’ve seen a ton of squirrels in our yard the past few weeks–thankfully Trinity hasn’t caught one yet. And just last night we saw an Opossum in the neighbor’s yard and I saw several birds flying in the large tree out front.
I’m also really thankful for neighbors who give us wood, Church family that lends us a log splitter, and the fact that our family is not the average size. Many hands really do make light work! It’s even been cold enough to have a fire in the fireplace a few nights too. That’s been SO nice. Last night we were even able to light the oil lanterns… (:
The only thing that makes the Living Room any cheerier when there’s a fire in the fireplace and all the lanterns and candles are lit is when all the Christmas decorations are out and all the lights are turned on…It’s my happy place…
I tend to overthink almost everything in life… I feel like in order to be the best I have to have the best equipment and know-how to work that equipment perfectly. Having this mentality often keeps me from doing things that I love. So I have to remind myself often that you don’t need the best equipment. You just need to be able to see what it is that’s around you and make the best of the equipment that you have.
Last night I noticed that there was some really nice light over by the woodpile so I went out back and started taking pictures. Sometimes I just need to get outside and take pictures purely for the enjoyment and not with an agenda…The ones that are taken for fun always turn out better! (:
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
