Our Daily Blessings

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I have a little bit of an animal theme going with this week’s blessings. So, here we go!

1) Calico hanging out in the living room

In our old house, Calico LOVED to be where ever we were. Most of our time was spent in the living room so she usually crashed on the couch or in Daddy’s lap while he lounged in the recliner. Once we moved here she seemed leery of the living room and wouldn’t venture very far into the room. The other day she came out and curled up in Bradley’s lap while he was in the recliner! It has taken her four months but she seems to be warming up to the living room! That is very good news because we’ve missed her out here.

2) Trinity getting her cone off

So, Trinity had her surgery on March 2nd. When we picked her up we were told that she had to leave her cone on for 7-10 days. She LOATHED her cone. She was very limited not only in movement (she kept running into walls) but also in what she could play with because she couldn’t hold her own toys. So she became a little depressed. She even began to eat her cone, which wasn’t a very good idea.

Shortly after her surgery, we noticed that she started to develop an infection. We were able to cure it by placing some medicine on the incision 3 times a day and it cleared up on its own. But that meant that she had to keep the cone on even longer so that she wouldn’t ingest the medicine.

Finally, on Tuesday we were able to take her cone off! She was a happy happy dog. We let her go outside to burn off some of that built-up energy. She just ran and ran with a big smile on her face. Now she can play with her toys and she’s even sleeping better!

3) Being able to get my ring repaired

I have a ring that was given to me by a very close family member when I turned 16. Since receiving this ring and getting it sized I have hardly taken it off. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that it felt like it was poking me. I didn’t think much of it until I took it off one day to put lotion on. Evidently, I had damaged the ring either when we moved or from moving firewood. The back of the ring had flattened and the sizing joint had a small crack. I took it to get repaired and I got it back yesterday! The jewelers did a very nice job repairing the ring and even cleaned it so that it was really shiny when I got it back. I was also very pleased that they were a Christian organization. They had free encouraging booklets available and played Christian music (which made me VERY HAPPY).

What are some of the daily blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below.

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
