Our Daily Blessings! (:

I’m not sure about you but I am having a hard time believing that 2018 is half over!? I’ve learned so much but there’s still so much I want to do this year. It’s crazy how fast it’s going…But enough of that. It’s time to once again count our blessings and SEE what God has done!

1) It’s National Donut Day!

I don’t know about you but anything with carbs is my downfall. I LOVE it–my waistline? Not so much. However, that’s not the point . The point is that today is a day to eat donuts and I plan on doing just that.

We were going to make homemade donuts with my Mom’s donut pan to celebrate but then life got in the way and  we’re just going to pick some up at the store and hopefully make ones from scratch soon. Be sure to check out my Instagram to see all the fun!

2) Having Options!

I’ve taken an awful lot of photos over the years. Since I got my DSLR (The BIG fancy camera with all the scary buttons) I’ve always felt that I needed to learn what every button does and when to use that particular setting. And that’s something that I am still working on, albeit slowly. I’ve let fear take over a big part of that.

I’m learning that yes, I do need to learn the settings and that there are some pretty cool things I can do with those settings eventually. But I shouldn’t let the fact that I don’t know all of them stop me from making good pictures now. After all, it’s not the tech stuff that makes a good picture, it’s how you SEE what it is that’s going on around you and capture that.

So, I’m happy to say that I’ll begin taking a lot more pictures of the life that I have been given. And I’m thankful that I have many photographic options. I have my phone for a quick picture, my little camera that’s really easy to carry around and not be tempted with social media, my BIG camera that’s good for all the still life images, bigger zoom and just general nature photography, and lastly my vintage camera which currently needs repaired but I still love it. It’s old fashioned, cute, and as a bonus my Dad’s Dad, Daddy and  I all have/had a similar film camera, so it’s like 3 generations of photographers….If you’d like to come along on the photographic road  be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook for all the latest updates!

3) The Humming Birds are BACK!

As I think I’ve said before I LOVE Humming Birds. They are some of my favorite birds in part because my Great-Grandmother loved birds and particularly humming birds. For the past several years we’ve made some sugar water and placed it in humming bird feeders around the yard. We did that again this year and I’m happy to say that the little birds have found the feeder and visited quite regularly. Maybe sometime next week I’ll try to go outside and get some new pictures to share with you. The one above is a bird from last year.

What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed from your own life this past week? I’d love for you to share them with me in the comments below! Have a great weekend! (:

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
