“…Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be for all people…” ~Luke 2:10

Happy December everyone! It’s hard to believe that Christmas is 23 days away. I figured the best way to kick off this Christmas season was to share some of my Christmas blessings; so, here’s a few from this past week.

Christmas movies

One thing that you may not know about me is that I love movies; I especially LOVE Christmas movies. In fact, one of our Christmas traditions is to watch “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” Thanksgiving night. It’s the perfect kick-off to the Christmas season. Reminding us that Christmas is more than the presents that are under the tree. It’s about the Love that God has shown us and spending time with those who we love. We already watched several shorter Christmas movies and are excited to watch some of the longer ones as Christmas draws closer.

Decorating Doors

For the past two years, members from our church have helped to decorate doors at a local care facility. It’s something that may seem small to some but I believe that the elderly there love seeing some new faces. I love that it’s a small thing that has a big impact on others. It’s nice to be reminded that you don’t need to do something huge to make a huge difference.

Hot Chocolate out of Christmas mugs

I find Christmas dishes seem to add a spark of joy into my everyday life, and as a bonus, it’s a warm drink when it’s freezing outside. One of the things I love to add to hot chocolate is coffee creamer. My favorites are french vanilla or pumpkin spice. I’d love to hear how you spice up your coffee or hot chocolate in the comments below.

Christmas Clothes and Jewelry

Another thing that I love about Christmas is all of the really festive clothes and jewelry. In the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I try to alternate all of my Christmas shirts and jewelry. I love finding a simple sweater and adding that little bit of extra cheer with a scarf, bracelet, earings or necklace. What’s your favorite holiday/Christmas accessory? Mine would have to be a pair of red ornament earings that a friend of mine gave me years ago. They match almost everything Christmas-y that I own and I love that they are actually ornaments! (:

What are some of the daily blessings or Christmas favorites that you have begun this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below.

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
