It’s a very hot and humid Friday, but that’s no reason to skip counting our blessings; is it? I thought so. Believe it or not I’m pretty excited for Fall and Winter to get here. Of course I have all my obvious reasons. Campfires, sweaters, boots, pretty leaves, cooler temps, all things pumpkin, and “Charlie Brown”. And let’s not forget about the snow, fires in the fireplace, CHRISTMAS, and now…
HOMEMADE MAPLE SYRUP!!!
Yep you read that right. Come the first of the year just as Winter’s fading and Spring’s coming we’ll be making maple syrup. Just like Laura Ingalls Wilder did in “Little House in the Big Woods”. Ours will just be on a much, much smaller scale but still…
Daddy’s always wanted a huge fruit orchard and some Sugar Maple trees so that we could do our own sugaring…and we realized Monday that that GIANT shade tree out front is a Sugar Maple!! (:
2) Family coming into town
This weekend’s going to be pretty busy as my Grandmother and Step-Grandfather are coming up for a visit! There’s going to be lots of good food, conversation, and we’re probably going to be doing something fun between now and Sunday I’m just not sure what… If you’d like to stay up-to-date on all the fun be sure to follow me on Instagram or Facebook.
3) Rain holding off
It was supposed to be rainy most of today. Thankfully, It’s been quite sunny. And that means that we’ll be able to cook dinner over the open fire–just like the pioneers! (: I’m sensing a sort of pioneer theme and trust me, it’s not intentional…
I hope that ya’ll have had a great week! I’d love it if you’d share a few of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week in the comments below! (: Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
