Hello Friday!! It’s really hard to believe that November is next week!? Where has this year gone??
1) Often times it’s the small things…
Y’all the past couple of weeks have been exhausting! Bradley started a new schedule and we’ve had something going on almost every night keeping us up later than normal…And everyday this week I’ve been up and at ’em before 6 am (except for today! Today I was very happy to get an extra 45 minutes of sleep!!) :O
I’m thankful for the small things. The fact that today is Friday, we don’t have any big plans for this weekend which means that we can REST, and we’ve had a fire in the fireplace every night this week. And while I was upstairs in the attic looking for some old movies for my Fall Favorites post I found several old VHS tapes that made me smile thinking about all the sweet childhood memories…I may just watch one or two this weekend! (;
2) And let’s not forget about the brownies!
So, for years now our family has never been able to find a chocolate brownie recipe that we LOVE…Until one day last week. My blogging friend Katie from My Joy in Chaos shared a recipe that I just had to try…
And I quickly discovered that these brownies are AMAZING! I’ve already made two batches since I first saw the recipe and plan on making another one soon simply because I keep forgetting to take a picture of them. (: They are by far the best brownies that we’ve ever made! And the best part is that they are super easy to make. It takes 10-15 minutes to mix it up and about 25 to bake! Check out the recipe for yourself HERE!
3) Pet Entertainment
Even though this week has been long as referenced above, it’s been nice to have some entertaining pets. The other morning while working on a project and getting organized we heard this shuffling noise over in our Theater (The little section in our living room that holds all of our DVD’s). Turns out it was Oreo picking out a movie! As you can see by the photo she had several that she was deciding between, and ended up choosing “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.” A good choice…Here’s some of the other ones she was thinking about. (:
We’ve been trying to let Trinity out to roam more and we put a gate at the bottom of the stairs so that she can’t go terrorize the cats. However that only works if the cats stay behind the gate. Often times Oreo sits right above the gate and tries to annoy Trinity. And Calico? We’ll she’ll just jump over the gate periodically and go very quietly explore the other parts of the house. (:
Both Calico and Trinity do pretty well with everyone in the family. But they have their favorite. Daddy. I kid you not, the minute the Daddy pulls the truck into the driveway (she knows what our vehicles look like and won’t bark when she sees one of the them pull into the driveway). Trinity’s whole back end starts wagging! (: Calico loves to have Daddy pet her and sometimes tuck her in at night…And let’s not forget how much Oreo loves the fireplace. She’ll lay RIGHT in front of the door. And let’s not forget the one time a hot coal escaped the fireplace and singed her fur…Yeah, she got mad when we tried to help her NOT catch on fire! (:
4) My Business cards came in the mail!
So, I’ve never actually made an official business card… I’ve designed one, but I never printed it. Usually I just tell people that seem interested and write my website on a piece of notepaper and hope for the best…But something changed this year. Since January, I’ve had two different people ask for my card. 0:
So last week I went ahead and uploaded my design and ordered 500 cards. They finally arrived the other day. This whole blogging/picture thing is really starting to feel officially official. I’m pretty excited about the way they turned out, and how God keeps opening doors along the way…Now, I just need to start handing these out to lots of people…(:
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love to hear your entertaining pet stories or blessings from this week in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
