Hello and happy Friday! I hope that you all have had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m really sorry I didn’t post last week, but we were extremely busy running around and getting all sorts of things prepared for Thanksgiving! But today, I’m back with a list of blessings from both weeks! Are you ready? Let’s dive in! (:
1) The power DIDN’T go out
I know, I was surprised too. We live on the outskirts of a pretty industrial city and our power seems to go out quite frequently. The other night we had a minor ice storm pass over the area leaving everything coated in ice. It looked absolutely beautiful outside, just like a winter wonderland, but was a little nerve-racking at the same time… You never knew if or when a tree branch would snap. We found out via social media that the majority of the city lost power for most of the day after the ice hit. Thankfully ours stayed on all day. We were guessing that all the trees that could have fallen on our power lines probably already did earlier this year.
2) My Art Gallery product is on display
Last Thursday was the opening night of the little art gallery’s Holiday show. It was actually kind of neat to go and look around. We weren’t there more than a half hour and in all honesty it was a little nerve wracking. It was a smaller room practically packed with people, there was a lot of extremely breakable items and I had a large bag rather than a small purse…
BUT. It was neat to see in person the amount of people looking around, mingling and actually seeming interested in the work. And despite the somewhat tight corners I enjoyed seeing how all the work was displayed. They set it up so that it made sense and was applicable to the buyer. While we were looking around we noticed that I had TWO shelves displaying just my work and they actually set my fire picture next to some really cool looking glass balls.
Overall, I’m glad that I went. Mom was saying earlier that she thinks that it’s good for me to SEE this in person. To SEE how well my work fit in. It didn’t stand out and wasn’t the most expensive thing there. To SEE that there were people looking at it. There was a LOT of people there when we left with more people arriving. And I think in a way to SEE the faithfulness of God. He opened this door and at the right time someone (hopefully a lot of someones) will fall in love with my work, purchase a piece to put in their home and be reminded to be content in the everyday…Whatever that everyday looks like.
3) Time spent with family
Bradley’s been taking an English course this semester and my Mom and I have been helping him edit a paper that he’s been working on. He decided to write about how Halloween is the official kick off to our holiday season. And I got to thinking about this time of the year in general. How when the holidays come around people gravitate toward home and family. I’m very blessed to be part of a very large, loving and supportive biological and church family. I’m thankful that this time of the year more than others we focus on getting together and visiting. Catching up and sharing stories. Enjoying the moment and time spent together.
What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below!
Until next time,
