Well hello there! I hope that you’ve had a good week. Many of you are already back to the grind; but there’s some of you like me, that are just now really getting into the swing of things. I must say that the fact that Christmas is a little more than two weeks ago seems purely CRAZY! Nevertheless, it’s time to take a minute and count our blessings and thank God for all the good that’s happened in our lives this week…
1) Living room valance upgrade!
So, Mom’s been wanting to upgrade our living room valances since shortly after we moved in. So she’s been doing a lot of thinking and looking to find something that she loves and that really fits the house and the decorations that we have.
Yesterday she and JoJo went out to the store to pick up a few essentials and came back with new valances (Similar options here). We’ve all agreed that it was just meant to be. They were on sale and they only had three left–the exact number that we needed. If you’d like to see what the original valances looked like you can look HERE.
2) Playing with my new photography toys
For Christmas I got a working zoom lens. I had one but ended up jamming it a year or so ago and it sounds just plain awful to fully extend. Then shortly before Christmas I got an upgraded remote. This one attaches to the camera and allows me to do time lapse photography. Due to some really nice weather I was able to get outside a couple of days this week and take some pictures. It was nice to be able to play around with the new gear and get a nice feel for it.
I plan on taking a lot of pictures this year so knowing how to work some of the new gear will be really nice.
3) We’re HOME this weekend!
Even though we had a very green (and somewhat warm) Christmas, winter has made a comeback! The weather people are now predicting a significant amount of snow falling this weekend. I’ve heard anywhere from 3 to 6 inches could fall here.
I’m thankful that it’s expected to fall on the weekend when we don’t have to worry about being somewhere. Daddy doesn’t have to work, Jr doesn’t have to run, and we really don’t have anywhere we have to be. If it’s gonna snow, I’d rather it be on a weekend that we don’t have plans than on a busy weekday!
Hopefully I’ll be able to go outside and get a few good pictures of the snowfall…
