Hello and happy Friday! I hope that y’all have had a great week! We’re just now entering our busy season. There’s something about Spring that fills our schedules. There’s gardening, house projects, Church things, graduations, birthdays, and of course, Easter. All just around the corner. And through it all so many wonderful blessings! Are you ready to take a look back at the week and find a few blessings? Let’s go!
1) Bradley is FINALLY done with his clinicals!
So, as part of Bradley’s EMT schooling he had to do clinicals. Both in the ambulance and at the hospital. Basically, this involved taking the vitals on patients and filling out some paperwork. Thankfully he was able to get his hospital clinicals done in one day. His ambulance Clinicals were another story. In order to get credit for these ones they had to transport the patient. These ones took a little longer. There were a couple of weeks where if he wasn’t in school, with his study buddies, eating or sleeping, he was at the station waiting to get the rest of his clincals done.
THANKFULLY he got the last one done earlier this week! And we’re back to the regular schedule! (:
2) Homemade cleaning products

One of the things that changed when we moved 2.5 years ago was that we are now on well water and a septic tank. So, we basically have our own water and sewage system which has more advantages than I even thought possible. But there are a few disadvantages. One of the big ones being that you can’t use a lot of harsh chemical cleaners especially bleach. The chemicals will kill the bacteria in the septic tank eventually causing NASTY backups. (Trust me, that is NOT something you want to ever deal with–been there, done that and I don’t want to have to ever do that again!).
So, Mom’s been doing some research and found that several of our regular cleaning products can be made cheaper at home and not cause any problems with the septic system. We’ve been using homemade cleaners for a few weeks now and we LOVE them.
The house looks and even feels cleaner than before! In fact we actually clean less. I know, it sounds crazy but it’s true. We live in a pretty dusty house. Six chickens, two cats, one dog, a mud hole for a backyard, and a wood burning fireplace will do that. However we actually only have to dust every couple of weeks since using the new cleaner instead of every week with the store bought stuff!
So, far we’ve made our own floor cleaner, furniture polish, and cleaning wipes. Everything works great and we haven’t once missed the store bought cleaners!
3) “Here Come the Waves”
We had been wanting to watch the old black and white movie “Here Come the Waves” starring Bing Crosby for some time now, we just never got around to ordering it. Saturday Mom and Dad went to the store and found a two disc set containing 8 old black and white war time comedy movies!
So, of course we watched “Here Come the Waves” last weekend and we loved it!
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them below!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
