Hello and happy Friday! I hope that ya’ll have had a good week! We’ve been pretty busy, but this time of the year that’s nothing new. We’re still entering our busy season just with different things–several of which I’m really looking forward to. Before I get too sidetracked with all of that, are you ready to take a look back at the blessings that God has given us this week?
1) A couple of fun announcements!
I’ve been really busy the past several weeks on a couple of new projects that I was FINALLY able to share with you! (: If you follow either my Facebook page or my Instagram you may have already seen them but for those of you that haven’t here ya go!
- I opened a BRAND NEW SHOP earlier this week! Since the very early beginnings of this dream of mine I’ve always wanted the product that you buy to pass through my hands first. What can I say, I’m a control freak, and I love the ability to be able to add personal touches to each and every order placed. This NEW shop also gives me the ability to combine all of my work in one place! So, you can find links to my book, my other shop Snapshots of Contentment, and all the NEW product that I can now make! (This shop was closed in 2020).
2. I also decided to do a giveaway! I’ve always wanted to do some form of giveaway for years now and could never quite figure out how to do it–until now. So, if you’ve had your eye on some of my product or my book you may just want to check out this post that shares all the details.
2) A Fun night out!
The first year that we started homeschooling I was in the 8th grade and our homeschooling mentor invited me to the local co-op’s play. I think I’ve been to almost everyone they’ve done since then and let me tell you, THEY KEEP GETTING BETTER!
Last year they performed “The Seussical” and left me feeling SO encouraged after a really hard week. This year they did “Fiddler on the Roof”. AND IT WAS AMAZING! These kids are SO talented and literally knock it out of the park every single year! Although we got home late and didn’t get to bed until close to Midnight it was worth it! (:
3) A Simple Reminder
Ya’ll today has been one of those days, it’s been crazy. And I’ve found myself stressing over things that I can’t control. I’ll admit it, I’m a control freak and like to have all my ducks in a row, my t’s crossed, and my I’s dotted. When it feels like there’s too many ducks going in their own direction and the pond is getting a little foggy I tend to enter panic mode. Instantly trying to figure out how to do X, Y, and Z and what to do if none of it works out.
Our van is quite unique you can actually control the volume of the radio with the gas pedal. So, I was riding in the van with Daddy trying to figure out how to line my ducks back up and when he got on the highway the radio got louder–loud enough to drown out most of my worries for a minute and just focus on the words of the song. And you know what? I was reminded of something quite pertinent. That God has provided thus far and that sometimes despite the fact that it goes against the natural control freak in me I just need to let go and let God. As hard as it is to trust sometimes that’s the only way forward. When the pond gets a little foggy I can’t (as hard as I may try) produce the light that burns the fog away. Only God can–and I need to let Him do what only He can do. And there was also a nice array of chocolate and we all know that chocolate makes things better. (:
What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
