Well hello there! I hope that ya’ll have had a great week! We’ve been pretty busy around here putting the final touches on the Christmas decorations, celebrating the opening of the Art Gallery, and preparing for Thanksgiving next week. Thanksgiving is the last Thursday in November this year and as a result there’s 6 less shopping days. I know that in reality this isn’t that big of a deal. It’s happened before and I’m sure it’ll happen again. However, I’ve been letting that one little fact to allow me to feel like I’m missing out on Christmas. Like I’m forgetting to do something…
While I was working on some new merchandise for the shop and listening to some new to me Christmas music the other day I realized that IT’S NOT EVEN DECEMBER YET!!! We’ve still got plenty of time for Christmas festivities. In reality the bulk of the festivities haven’t even started yet!! That simple fact made me feel a whole lot better! (:
A week ago Sunday (November 10) After Church we visited a quaint little soap shop and then went out to dinner with a friend from Church. I love getting together with friends or family over a nice meal, especially with those of the older generation. There’s something special about them. They are really good at telling stories. The best part of these stories is that they aren’t made up…they’re real things that they experienced; both the good and the bad. And the way they tell it, it’s like a living history book! (:
The rest of the week was spent spreading Christmas Cheer throughout our house. Last Monday we put the tree up while watching “Elf”. It took us all week to get the decorations out this year. We’ve changed the way that some of the furniture is laid out so we’re having to make sure that each room has a little bit of evenly spaced Christmas cheer.
Last Thursday was the opening night of the Art Gallery!
The opening is really a small affair. The Gallery provides a few snacks, people come and go at their leisure and look around at all the art showcased around the gallery. Normally I show up long enough to find all of my work, take a few pictures, and leave. This year as we were walking in the door Daddy noticed that they had hung my log ornaments on this tiny tree! I loved the way that the ornaments actually fit the tree quite nicely. (:
We then noticed that several of my other pieces (canvases, wooden boxes, and my wooden plaques) were mostly on their own shelf! So, I thought I might get a picture by “my shelf”. I had initially planned to get better photos of my artwork however despite being able to see really well in the gallery most of my photos came out really dark! 🙁

I wasn’t planning on getting a photo of that this year since I had one from last year and it hadn’t changed much. BUT upon further investigation we noticed that the gallery spelled my name wrong! This has been going on for YEARS. Very few people seem to remember that there’s an “E” in my name! It’s spelled B-A-I-L-E-Y.
This week we’ve finished most of the Christmas shopping. There’s still a few things we need to get, most of that being the candy and such that goes into the stockings. And we all know that if we were to buy the candy there wouldn’t be any left by Christmas Eve. Next week the wrapping process begins. How far along are you in your Christmas shopping? Do you like to be done by Thanksgiving? What are some of the blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
