Seek and Find…

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”
~Psalm 27:13

I don’t know about you but sometimes I let this world get to me. I feel that I need to know everything that is mentioned in the Bible to be able to live a life pleasing to God. Sometimes I get caught up in the perfection trap—thinking that I need to have my entire life lived just perfectly and if it’s not I’ve failed and God doesn’t love me like He used to. My friend, if that’s you today, I want to encourage you and remind you of a couple of very important truths.

“So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’”
Matthew 1:22-23

God is with you. He has not abandoned you and He never will (Deuteronomy 31:6, John 14:18). I know that sometimes it’s really easy to think that God has left us here alone. But He hasn’t.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1.

We don’t see God like we would see our friends and family but we know that He is there. He continually shows us the evidence of His existence. Where is this evidence you ask? All around you. The sun came up today, there is a breeze in the air and the leaves are changing just to mention a few.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Luke 11:9

When life gets crazy we need to remember to seek God. He’s alive and active in our everyday lives. Continually look for Him and He promises that you will find Him. Look for all the small ways that He shows up day after day moment by moment. They’re there you may just have to search a little.

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
