When I look back over this past week I can’t help but smile. I’ve had some struggles and dealt with a little discouragement, but truthfully, I’ve actually surprised myself.
This past Saturday was our Church’s Walk4Water. The weather was perfect. A chilly breeze was in the air but once the sun came out it warmed up nicely. The sky was a deep blue and I got to see and capture SO many smiles and see Church family I hadn’t in months. We walked to raise money and awareness for clean water around the world. We’re still taking donations for another week but so far we’ve raised over $10,000,000! Thank you all for your prayers and donations. If you’d like to donate you can do so HERE. (All the money donated goes to HHI and their clean water program!)

On Tuesday Dad and I worked the election. I was up at 4:30 and on the road by about 5:20 AM. The day was long but worth it in more ways than one. Usually the day after an election I’m exhausted. I try to have a lighter day because making any decisions on that little sleep is a recipe for a dramatic meltdown. BUT this week I was actually able to function and get a good amount of work done! That usually never happens!
And then there was yesterday…
I was able to make a dent in a massive techy project I’ve been needing to do–something that I’ve tried avoiding but can’t. I hate dealing with the tech side of blogging but taking it one step at a time and continuing to pray about it daily asking God for guidance and wisdom makes it a little more bearable (well that, some good music, and a sketch pad). 😀

We’ve been letting the chickens free range throughout the yard for several hours each day. Yesterday we noticed a hawk flying around the yard. So, we leashed the dogs and took them outside to round up the birds. (They are not to be trusted off leash around the birds. Jasper herds them right to Trinity…and that does not end well). While we were waiting for Jasper to round them up so we could let Trinity off the leash Mom and I noticed a bright yellow Goldfinch and a couple of male Orioles near the feeders. I’m happy to see the Spring weather, lots of sunshine, and the many colorful birds return! 😄
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
