Hello everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with family and friends. I wanted to mix things up a little bit this week and share a few Thanksgiving-related blessings with you all today.

1) Spending Thanksgiving with family

We spent the day in Northern Ohio with my Mom’s family to celebrate Thanksgiving. I’m thankful that we have nice vehicles that make traveling easier and more convenient. I’m grateful that we had safe travels there and back–we didn’t have any flat tires like last time. 😉 I’m thankful that despite our busy lives we still make time to get together to celebrate the holidays. I’m thankful for the memories that we make every year and the time that we get to spend together.

2) Rest

We’ve been fairly busy the last several weeks. I’m thankful that we’ve been able to rest today. We had some errands to run this morning but then we were able to come home and make a nice breakfast and watch one of our favorite Christmas movies– Disney’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. Honestly, there was a time when I didn’t necessarily like kicking off the Christmas season by watching that movie. But over the last year or so I couldn’t think of a better way to start the season. I love the reminder that It’s not the gifts under the tree that make Christmas, Christmas; it’s our faith in Jesus and what He did for us and those we share the day with that make Christmas, Christmas.

3) Watching the sun rise

We had to get up at 6:00 to make sure that we were able to get all of our errands run in a timely manner. One of the things that I actually enjoyed about getting up before the sun today was getting to see the sunrise. We took the back roads that were less busy and it was really neat to sit there, sipping hot chocolate/coffee, listening to Christmas music watching the sunrise.

What are some of the Thanksgiving blessings that you have noticed in your life this year? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
