To be honest I’m tired today; I’d much rather be curled up on the couch reading or watching a movie than working. We’ve had a very busy few days filled to the brim with activity. Dad took yesterday off so that we could get the fireplace inspected. It’s all clean and ready to use; now we’re just waiting on the weather to cooperate.
The house is slowly but surely returning back to normal–FINALLY! It’s true that we never fully understand what we have until we don’t have it anymore. Case in point: We finally ate dinner at the table last night for the first time in like three weeks and we can actually see the dining room table!! Ah, it’s SO nice!!
Errands were ran like crazy…doing those last few things before school starts in a couple of weeks. Getting stocked up on things that we were running out of and getting those things that we always forget that we need until we use the last of them.
And let’s not forget SALSA! Yep, that’s right we finally made salsa amid the 1,000 other things we did yesterday! We put up a total of 13 quarts (and thankfully one of them didn’t seal so we get to taste test a whole jar)! I’ve got to be honest, I wasn’t sure how canning in this house was going to work. We have a galley style kitchen as opposed to our old house that had a small square kitchen. It actually worked quite well and it didn’t roast the entire house like it did at the old house (WIN!!).
And on top of that it stormed last night and has been gloomy today…
When life gets hectic like the past few days, we’re tired, and it’s dreary outside it’s SO easy to feel down and we forget just how loved we are. We get busy doing life, get into a funk and forget where our life comes from.
We forget that we are SO loved. Loved despite our mistakes, bad attitudes, meltdowns and need to feel in control. We are loved as we are, chosen, pursued, forgiven, and fought for. I know that I easily get caught up in the day to day craziness that I often forget these simple truths. If you need a reminder of just how loved you are check out my book “Finding True Love: A 14 day devotional exploring the deep love that God has for us”. It’s filled with 14 short (10 minutes or less) devotionals reminding you just how loved you are! It’s short and sweet–perfect to read amid the back to school hustle!
Until next time,
Bailey Sue
Good job!
Thank you!
