School house bird feeder surrounded by trees

Wednesday Wonders!(:

Hey Ya’ll, happy Wednesday!

I’ve decided to do something a little different this week. I’ll still be sharing Wonders as usual but, instead of the pictures being from seperate days they were all taken on the same day around the same time.

Scenes from the kitchen window…

We have a front porch off of the kithen door. The awning that covers the porch is a local bird hang out. The birds love to hang out in the little triangle parts. I’ve always wanted to get some really good bird pictures.

So one day last week I decided that I was going to attempt to photograph these birds. The screens on the kitchen windows move up and down so I opened the window and the screen and waited. I didn’t see any birds but I was able to sit there look at my surroundings and get a couple of really good pictures that I’d like to share with you.

One of the things that I love about this picture is the simplicty. It’s a bird feeder surrounded by trees.  I really like the little pop of color provided by the bird house. It gives you something more to look at. The pillars on either end of the photo along with the bird house also break up the sea of green nicely.

This picture is actually my favorite shot that I got that afternoon. I love the depth of field in the picture (how the ends of the string are really clear and the lamp post is very blurry). In fact we call this very lamp post our Narnia lamp post. (:

Water Pump I just thought that this one was cool. I like the old-fashioned-ness of this picture with the water pump and the thermometer. It’s not quite as clear as I would like but but I still enjoy looking at it.

I hope that these encourage and remind you  that you don’t even have to leave your house to get good pictures. I was literally sitting on the floor of the kitchen with my camera on the window sill.

What are some Wednesday Wonders that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below.

Until next time,

Bailey Sue
