I’ve been reading this book by Joyce Meyer that I just love. It’s called

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”
~Proverbs 23:7

I was reminded of that little song Mom used to sing to us whenever she didn’t like what we were watching on T.V. or the music we were listening to. It went something like this:

“O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see”.

I’ve come to realize that my thoughts DIRECTLY affect my mood. If I’m thinking about the lies the devil tries to get me to believe or worrying about the future my mood goes downhill very quickly. And it’s a battle to get it back on track again.

Something else that I have noticed is that what I do first thing in the morning also affects my mood. If I waste time scrolling through social media before my chores are done I feel really lousy the rest of the day. Why? Because I am comparing my life to the lives of others instead of seeing all of the blessings God has given me.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
~Philippians 4:8

Until next time,
